Nigeria’s Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr and some of his technical assistants on Sunday landed in the Federal Capital, Abuja as preparations kicked off for next week’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Zambia in Ndola.

France –based Rohr, who has now been provided with accommodation in Abuja by the Nigeria Football Federation, jetted into town aboard an Air France flight in company with technical assistant Jean Luc Royer and video analyst Nabil Trabelsi.

The team’s backroom staff were early birds at the team’s Bolton White Hotel and Apartments in Abuja, with Chief Coach Salisu Yusuf expected on Sunday evening and assistant Coach Imama Amapakabo expected on Monday, after he would have picked up Nigeria’s elite League trophy as his table -topping Enugu Rangers hosted El-Kanemi Warriors on the final day of the season on Sunday.

Kogi United ended the 2015/2016 Nigeria National League, NNL season with a 1-0 defeat to Katsina United in the final game played at the Karkanda Stadium, Katsina.

The lone goal which came through a counter in the 28th minutes saw Usman Bello latch onto a headed pass from Martins Usule from the edge of the Kogi United box.

Kogi United started the game with revenge on their minds as they intended to avenge their home loss to Katsina in the reverse fixture.

It was an overwhelming victory for coach of Rangers International, Imama Amapakabo, after he was voted as the SupportTheNPFL Manager of the Season. The coach pooled 84 percent of votes ahead of Wikki Tourists coach, Abdu Maikaba, in second position with paltry seven percent votes. Other coaches voted for in the first ever award by the online site are IfeanyiUbah coach, Rafael Everton (five percent) and Stanley Eguma of Rivers United (three percent).

In the Player of the Season category, Rangers’ Chisom Egbuchulam, won with 48 percent votes while top scorer, Godwin Obaje, of Wikki Tourists finished second with 36 percent votes. IfeanyiUbah Ismaila Gata polled 15 percent votes while Rivers United skipper, Festus Austin, finished last with one vote.
