  • Black Stallions commence training in Johannesburg

    The Nigerian senior men Rugby team also known as The Black Stallion on Monday Morning arrived the sunny city of Johannesburg for a 5 day training camp ahead of the qualifiers for the Rio 2016 Olympics games.

    7 home based players on arrival at the Tambo International Airport headed straight for the Southern Sun hotel later being joined by their foreign counterparts from United State of America and United Kingdom.

    In view of the daunting task ahead, the South African born coach, Fabian Juries spring into training action considering the little time the boys have to acclimatise to the high altitude, his training focused more on physical conditioning, recovery and game strategy.

    Speaking after the training session, Juries commended the Nigerian Rugby Football Federation for seeing the importance and the need for early preparation.
    The impressed South African Rugby Legend applauded The NRFF Sponsor CMB Building Maintenance & Inv. Co. Ltd for their effort towards the development of Rugby in Nigeria.

    Meanwhile, the federation's Technical Adviser, Bandele Coker expressed optimism that the highly motivated team may pull up a surprise at the tournament considering the quality of players selected for the tournament scheduled to hold between the 14th and 15th of November.
