Enyimba International Stadium is the home of Enyimba Football Club of Aba. They are known as the 'People's Elephant of Aba,' one of the biggest and the most successful club in Nigeria.

Enyimba are a household name in Nigeria and in Africa more generally. They have the bragging rights on the continent. When they hit a venue, their host knows a formidable guest is in town.
Stadium Review: Enyimba Int'l Stadium Aba

Enyimba International Stadium Aba was opened in 1992. It was formerly called Aba
Township Stadium, but was renamed in honor of the club when they won CAF Champions League. The 25,000 capacity stadium hosts football (soccer) matches only. The pitch used to be grass but will wear an artificial turf as works is currently going at the stadium.

The stadium has a good parking space large enough to take as many cars as may come into the ground when they have a full house.

    Food And Beverage

There are options for food and beverage within the stadium complex. If you'd like to have a nice meal before you get into the main bowl, then look at your left hand side when you get to the second entrance into the stadium. There are restaurants there that offer good food within the range of N300- N500 for a plate of food. Be rest assured that you've got some real pros who will give you a meal that will make you want more, but there are no real options for those that would just want snacks.

    Atmosphere

The atmosphere at the Enyimba Int'l Stadium is electrifying. Enyimba Int'l FC means a lot to the fans. They wear their replica jerseys with pride. No other club is bigger than Enyimba to the fans and they will definitely prove that during a match. While the supporters club entertains the fans with series of songs, the fans dance along in joy as they urge their team on.

    Neighborhood

For a town where trade is one of the major activities, keeping the neighborhood clean has been a difficult task. The people of Aba are entertaining and accommodating, but it's obvious that they need to make their environment clean. The stadium is located near a market, but that's about it in the immediate neighborhood.

    Fans

The fans are unique and well organized. The supporters club display inside and outside of the stadium is a sight to watch at any time. The fans know their players and regard their home ground as a hunting ground, so for supporters of the visiting team who venture to Enyimba, don't be astonished when you see Enyimba say with pride how their darling team will devour your team.

    Access

To avoid the heavy traffic on a match day, it's advisable to get to the stadium early. Though there's enough parking space once you arrive, the feeling that you'll get trapped in the traffic while the match has already started won't go down well so just leave yourself plenty of time. An option in case you are a little bit late is to get a tricycle or cab to take you to stadium from wherever you are in Aba.

    Return On Investment

Some stadia in Nigeria command the massive turn out for local matches, but Enyimba Int'l Stadium is one of the very few to meet this description. The opportunity to see the Enyimba supporters club entertain the fans in their usual unique style is enough value to make you forget what you spent on the gate fee.

    Extras

Because the team's hostel (Enyimba FC) is located in the stadium, some fans who still want to have a glance at the players they adore stay back after the match. This is a good opportunity to get some autographs from Enyimba players.
