As expected relegation and promotion battle in the Nigeria National League (NNL) continued as NNL resumed back with week 29 matches after series of postponement.

The double derbies in Jos ended with all four teams involved (GIWA FC, Plateau United, Mighty Jets and JUTH FC) sharing points. Remo Stars threw away a chance to go top of group A because they shared points with Abia Warriors, COD united might as well prepare for life in the lower league or better still consider to buy a slot if they still wish to feature in the NNL, the White Lions lost in Benin against Bendel Insurance.

 The duo of Zachary Baraje and Mfon Udoh have been named the Glo Premier League Manager and Player for July respectively by the League Bloggers Awards (LBA).

 Baraje, who is head coach of El-Kanemi Warriors, led his men to a flawless performance in the month of July winning all three matches for the period under review, against Kano Pillars, Nasarawa United and Wikki Tourists, without conceding.

According to Sivasspor website, Super Eagles forward, John Chukwudi Utaka has pen a two year deal with Turkish side Sivasspor.

Utaka who last featured for Montpellier left the French side as a free agent and he is about to start a new life in Turkey with Turkish Super Lig side Sivasspor.

Sivasspor will be the 9th club Utaka is playing for, he has previously played for Enugu Rangers(Nigeria), Araba Contractors,Ismaily (Egypt), Al-Sadd (Qatar)
Lens,Rens,Montepellier (France), Portsmouth (England) and Sivasspor (Turkey).

The Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday released the fixtures and venues for the semi final matches of the 2013 Men’s Federation Cup competition, following Wednesday’s quarter final games.

Two-time CAF Champions League winners, Enyimba FC of Aba, who saw off the challenge of ambitious Nasarawa United FC of Lafia in Abeokuta, will square up against last year’s runners-up Lobi Stars of Makurdi, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
