My predictions this season hasn't been too cool compared to last season. I averaged 47% in the first stanza of this season but some how I decided to get back since the scond half of this season and so far it's been interesting.

So I took that bold step to resume the predictions on radio and the interesting part is that the calls, mails and SMS requesting for NPFL predictions each week didn't stop even when I'm quick to state it clear that they shouldn't place a bet on my predictions (I don't do bet).

After 19 exciting years in the domestic league, former Nigerian International, Victor Ezeji, has brought the curtain down on his glittering career.

Ezeji emerged not only as a distinguished professional, but also the most decorated domestic player with laurels in his trophy cabinet from the League and Cup competitions.

Interestingly, Ezeji, who graduated from the prestigious University of Port Harcourt with a degree in Accountancy, is one of the few footballers, who successfully combined education with professional football.

After winning the 2007 Coca-Cola FA Cup, when he became the first player to win the Top Scorer and Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards, Ezeji headed for Tunisian side, Club Africain, in 2008 and returned to the country to continue his career, in 2009.

“Ezeji will address the media on his retirement and plans for a testimonial in September.

“We’re proud of his career as he has since become a role model to up-and-coming players in the Glo Premier League. Ezeji’s achievements are rare in the modern era, Ojeikere Aikhoje, who heads Sports PR firm, MatchRoom Sports, stated.

Ezeji played for top sides like Eagle Cement (now Dolphins), Sharks, Enyimba and Sunshine Stars, respectively.

In 2012, MFM FC who were preparing to play in the third level league in Nigeria (NNWL1) at that time got an opportunity to play in the Nigeria National League (NNL) on a free from Bolowotan FC who couldn't continue play in the same league due to lack of fund.

 The 11 –month old Amaju Pinnick –led administration at Nigeria Football Federation will do only those things that are right and proper for the development of Nigeria football, even in the face of hollow voices of dissent, says NFF President Amaju Pinnick. 

Pinnick spoke on Wednesday in Abuja as the NFF poured more praises on the Ondo State Football Association for launching a state version of the League Management Company (OLMC) to engineer real grassroots development of the game in that State. 

On Tuesday, Ondo State FA boss, Otunba Sunday Dele-Ajayi, also a Member of the NFF Executive Committee, had presented the OLMC to NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi.

Initially my concern was to see a Lagos base team secure promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) but after taking a proper look at the table I noticed that Plateau United and Niger Tornadoes may as well play in the top flight football league in Nigeria next season.

Niger Tornadoes for me has done well so far but I'd like to mention here that Coach Abdullahi Biffo has shown that he's got some thing special. I remember when Giwa FC debut in the NNL in 2012, the Elephant of Jos were  managed by this young coach, Abdullahi Biffo. That season they gave a good fight but lost the battle to Nasarawa United. At some point he was suspended but when Giwa FC struggled in their second season in the NNL, Biffo was called upon to rescue the team and that he did. Giwa FC secured promotion to NPFL even with two more games to go in the 2013 season. 

His romance with the Jos base team didn't last long in the NPFL but after he left Giwa FC, he moved to Niger Tornadoes and as we speak with just two games to go, the Minna base team may as well be promoted. 

After ten games, Niger Tornadoes top Group A2 with 20 points while the closest team in that group, ABS FC are on 16 points after nine matches.
