In 2012, MFM FC who were preparing to play in the third level league in Nigeria (NNWL1) at that time got an opportunity to play in the Nigeria National League (NNL) on a free from Bolowotan FC who couldn't continue play in the same league due to lack of fund.
MFM FC took over that NNL slot and challenged for the promotion ticket. Each season they never finished below 7th. Since 2013 they've always came close but this time around they picked the only promotion ticket in their group.
Since their debut season in the NNL in 2012, MFM FC have shown that they've got the potential to play at the highest level. They pick points regardless of where they play. MFM FC picked points at will on the road, though they do at times drop points at home but they a strong side.
Congrats to MFM FC for bringing Premier League football back to Lagos after a decade and half. They'll bring something different to the NPFL next season.
While PH teams are finding it so difficult to crawl out of the red zone in the on going NPFL season, two teams from Lagos may replace them if they choose to go down.
MFM FC have secured a ticket already and another team, Ikorodu United may as well pick one more for Lagos tomorrow.
