Abdullahi salutes Imoke on Eaglets, Maigari decorates him with World Cup medal

It was all round praises for Senator Liyel Imoke (CON),the Executive Governor of Cross River State by Hon. Sport Minister, Alhaji Bolaji Abdullahi and NFF's President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari for his sterling support to Nigerian football and especially towards Golden Eaglets'
fourth record U-17 World Cup success in the UAE.

Abdullahi described Imoke as the 'calmest Governor in Nigeria' adding that his disposition has really rubbed off on the rank and file of the Golden Eaglets which in no small way helped in conquering the world.

" Frankly, I want to thank your Excellency for your unqualified support for this team and we really want you to do more because it would be a monumental failure if we allow these abundant talents to
waste," Bolaji said ,adding the Governor must be proud of the team for cultivating the right attitude during their long camping in Calabar.

“You don't need anybody to tell you that Governor Imoke is the calmest in Nigeria and you don't need anyone to tell you Calabar is the calmest city in Nigeria. “I’m not surprised that the Golden Eaglets crew is calm and collected because they must have imbibed such attitude for camping here and we
can't thank you enough," he added.

He begged the Governor for his steady support as the NSC and NFF finds a common way in order to sustain the gains recorded by the team following their success at the Under-17 level, praying the
players would in years to come form the bedrock of the team to win
the senior FIFA World Cup for Nigeria.

Similarly, Maigari noted that Governor Imoke is peerless for his remarkable support to the NFF as well as the Golden Eaglets and Super Eagles before decorating him with a FIFA World Cup Gold medal and a pennant from the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the UAE 2013
U-17. “We won't be tired of thanking you for all that you have done and what you are still doing for Nigerian football which all of us can see," stated Maigari."You are worthy of this Gold medal because you were the architect of the success of our dear, Super Golden Eaglets."
