BBM ti se bebe o( has done wonderfully) 1million downloads by Thursday night, 5 million by Friday afternoon, maybe 25 million by Sunday midnight, lol, I've been chatting with friends via their BBM on Android, with devices ranging from HTC, Apple, Techno and Samsung, some of these people have sworn at one time not to buy blackberry devices oooo (laughs), somehow they are getting to see what we enjoy in BBM.
I've been thinking about the possible economic ripple effects, firstly WHATSAPP might just die a natural death, because the truth is, while we can chat and all on whatsapp, it still can't compete favourably with BBM, remember Nimbuzz? *straight face*
Secondly, RIM has to work on their hardware offering, I guess that's why they quickly rolled out the Q and Z series, I see blackberry coming up with Android devices in the coming weeks or months; I see the prices of the old ones crashing in the coming days,
Thirdly BIS; it's the cheapest Internet subscription we have ever had access to in Nigeria, Etisalat will give you 3gig with either 1,000 or 1,500, other data bundles will only give you 250-500mb with the same amount, by the time most Android users download BBM, I see our Network Providers allowing Android BBM users subscribe on the usual BIS plan ...
The Mobile Technology industry gets more competitive by the week, it's just unfortunate that the Nigerian market basically consumes ..
