Bolowotan football club of Ikorodu have concluded plans to come back to league football, they will be playing in the maiden edition of the Lagos State Metro Professional Football League (MPFL).
The Oga Boys got promoted to the second tier league in Nigeria in 2012 but failed to sojourn in the Nigeria National League (NNL) due to
financial constraint thus gave their NNL slot to MFM FC at no cost,who are currently doing well in the league.
The proprietor of the club, Toyin Gafaar said that the pride of Lagos are back to active football, that they will be featuring in the MPFL.
"We have concluded plans to make it back to active football in Nigeria and we will be starting afresh with the Metro League, our come back is propelled by a desire to run in a more professional way" he divulged.
He also talked about how important the fans are to the team and appreciated them for standing the test of time with the club.
''I want to use this time out to appreciate all our fans all over the world for putting their trust and belief in us during the trying time, we have taken series of steps
centered at making each fan of Bolowotan FC a proud supporter and a
stake holder of the Oga Boys".
''As we work quietly behind the scene to launch some interesting products that will make our fans actively involved in their club Bolowotan FC". He said.
Bolowotan first official match in the Metro Pro League will be against Collins Edwin Sports Club at the Legacy Pitch Surulere, Lagos on the 26th of February, 2014 by 4pm while our first home match will be against 36 Lion FC on Wednesday, 5th of March 2014 at the Strong Tower pitch Ikorodu (Former Nitel) by 4pm.
