Israel Daniel nodded home a 74th minute equaliser as Shooting Stars Sports Club held Prime Football Club to a 1-1 draw at the Federal Polytechnic Ede, Sports Complex.
Prime had to come from behind to pick the home point after Najeem Olukokun had gave 3SC an early lead after nodding into the net from a left flank corner kick.
The Omoluabi Giants fought tooth and nail and
gained more possession in the tension soaked game but their fireworks in front of goal was curtailed by 3SC defence and goalkeeper, Afeso Attah to end the first half 0-1.
Prime came into the second stanza stronger pressing so hard to level score but former Dolphins FC attacker, Israel gave the the crowd something to cheer as he nod the ball into the net to put the scores at 1-1.
3SC goal keeper, Attah, twice made saves from Prime attackers during the closing stages as Prime pressed for a winner, but each team had to be content with a point.
Prime blame the disappointing home draw to the centre referee, Daso Adeyinka, from Ondo State for assisting Shooting Stars tactically to ensure they avoid defeat.
"We're disappointed and we will fight back immediately away from home to make up the disappointing result but the referee assisted 3SC to avoid defeat."
Shooting Stars gaffer, Franklin Howard, expressed joy for the hard fought point and praised his players for showing great character and also described Prime as a tough opponent with good players and team work.
"We give God the glory for the point, it wasn't an easy game, Prime are a good side and I believe the vital point we secured will aid us to the promised land."
