Super Eagles coach, Salisu Yusuf has expressed confidence ahead of the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Benin on Sunday at the Mathew Kerekuo Stadium.
The Nigerians who are scheduled to leave their base in Kano on Friday will fly to Lagos then make a short trip to Cotonou by road same day.
Salisu in a chat to Footyalert after the 1-1 draw between the Eagles and a Kano selected side confirmed that his team is getting better by the day.
"Generally, the team did well in the friendly considering where they are coming from. They have had to leave the national team camp for club assignment. Most of them played on Sunday and had to travel 10-17 hours to Kano," Salisu told Footyalert
"The team is getting better by the day and I am confident that we shall secure a positive result in Cotonou.
The second leg of the qualifier will take place at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano a week later. The winner from this final qualifying round picks up a ticket to the tournament in Kenya.
