Eighteen and half years after he played for Kayserispor in the Turkish league, Flying Eagles goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu has returned to his former base.
It was a happy reunion for Agu and several of his former teammates at Kayseri’s biggest club when the Flying Eagles filed out at the impressive Kayserispor training ground.
“It’s really amazing what Kayseri has become since
I left the city,” said an impressed Agu.
“The city has simply been transformed. It’s unbelievable.”
The former Eagles skipper said he remembers Kayseri as a city that loves its football.
Agu spent two and half years at Kayserispor.
Last season, the club finished fifth in the Turkish top league and may well feature in the UEFA Europa League should Besiktas and Fenerbache be found guilty of a match-fixing allegation next week.
In the meantime, Nigerian students in Turkey visited the Flying Eagles at the Hilton Hotel Thursday night to pledge their support for the country’s U20 team ahead of the World Cup.
