The stage is set and the grass is green as Lagos, the Centre of Excellence, is agog for the Bet9ja Nationwide League One (NLO) Super 8 Tournament taking place 23rd - 29th October 2016 at the Agege Township Stadium.
This fiesta promises an exciting football atmosphere as the eight Clubs that won their respective groups in the division one cadre of the Nigeria Nationwide League trade tackles against one another to determine the overall winners of the division.
The Executive Secretary of Nationwide League One, Shola Ogunnowo, told thenff.com on Friday that all arrangements have been put in place to ensure a hitch - free football tournament, as he noted that the best of Nigerian football at the grassroots level will be on a display at the Agege Township stadium all through the week.
"All is set for the Bet9ja NLO Super 8 and we are expecting sublime football artistry and funfair from all the participating teams. It is also reassuring to know that Lagosians are football –loving Nigerians, who are ready to be thrilled by these teams when the tournament kicks off," he said.
Ogunnowo added: “It will also be an opportunity for the clubs to test the strength of their players and their general capacity as they prepare for the tough task of football in the professional cadre in the Nigeria National League (NNL). In fact, some clubs in the Nigeria National League and the Nigeria Professional Football League can use this tournament to seek for young promising football talents they can sign for their clubs."
The NLO scribe also poured encomiums on Bet9ja for their contributions to the development of football in Nigeria and for sponsoring the tournament.
"We are grateful to God for bringing Bet9ja to sponsor this tournament and we know the noble role the company has been playing in the development of football, especially at the grassroots, in Nigeria. Hopefully, every football –loving Nigerian will be amazed with the quality of football and the plethora of talents at the grassroots during the course of the tournament.
