  • Prime FC Lifts Osun State 2015 FA Cup

    Prime Football Club Sunday evening defeated Ajiroba Ooni Football Club of Ile-Ife, 3-0 to win the 2015 Osun State Federation Cup.
    The highly interesting encounter, which brought out the best out of the two teams with Prime playing with more confidence and creating most chances of the first half that ended 1-0.
    Ajiroba defensive midfielder, Sunday Ekpo, was red-carded for second booking.
    Prime mecurial midfielder, Akeem Olalere, was the match-winner with a brace in the 28th and 70th minute in the state FA Cup showpiece.

    Prime came stronger and played with maturity, dominating possession with Azeez Abdulsalam, getting the third goal in the 83rd minute. 

    The Omoluabi Giants defence line were able to curtail Ajiroba onslaught who laboured in vain with fireworks from Oluwole Ajibola, John David and Nurudeen Suleiman. 

    Speaking with newsmen after the game, Osun FA boss, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, expressed optimism that the both sides will go places in the national Federation Cup, stressing that the state is blessed with abundant talents. 


    Prime defeated Ajiroba Ooni 1-0 in last year finals.
