The Executive Governor of Gombe State, Dr Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo
(Talban Gombe) has graciously approved the release of 100% payment of sign-on fees for 2011-2012 season for Gombe United Football Club players, medical and technical crew. All match bonuses and transport allowances for the 2012-2013 season have also been paid.
Prior to this very event that witnessed the presentation of sign-on fees and payment of match
bonuses and transport allowance. Governor Dankwambo has also paid 50% of the accumulated sign-on fees and other bonuses and allowances for the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons.
Presenting the checks yesterday Wednesday 7th August 2013, the
Executive Chairman Gombe State Sports Commission Malam Farouk Yarma and the General Manager of Gombe United Football Club Alhaji Auwalu Musa Umar, lauded the zeal of the governor and charged the players to reciprocate this gesture by getting the needed result to help the club.
According to the Executive Chairman, a target is set for the club to qualify for continental competition at the end of this football season. He also advocated that discipline will be inculcated
in the club, any player found wanting will be seriously dealt with.
The Team Manager, Ibrahim Kwairanga and the club captain Alhaji Kwairanga, thanked governor Dankwambo for releasing these funds and promised to intensify efforts to bring glory to the team and to Gombe State in general.
