West Bromwich Albion manager, Alan Irvine has stated that the Baggies Nigerian import, Brown Ideye is progressing and he is impressed by the form of the attacking trio of Silvestre Varela, Stephane Sessegnon and Brown Ideye since they were introduced.
Alan Irvine spoke about the trio particularly mentioning the
Super Eagles forward and the club's record signing, Ideye.
Super Eagles forward and the club's record signing, Ideye.
"The three up front worked well. But it's something we could only put together recently. Silvestre was like Brown, in that he missed preseason and got injured," Irvine told the club's official website
"Sess has played most of the games and played in differed positions but that three up front look a handful and we're pleased how they're progressing
"I think he's [Ideye] progressing. He did a lot of good things.
"He had a chance to score (against QPR) and should have done but he's getting sharper and better. It's only a matter of time before he will get his first Premier League goal and hopefully that will lead to more.
"His record in the past has been of a player who scores goals so I would expect that he would do that.
"I knew it wouldn't be quick as he missed pre-season. He came late and anyone who misses that finds it tough to catch up and then he got an injury. I didn't anticipate the injury so obviously that was something he couldn't control. It was a big blow." Irvine stated.
