Confluence Queens FC will play a friendly match against Nasarawa
Amazons on Wednesday 4th March, at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja, as
part of preparation for the 2014/15 Nigeria Women Premier League
season.
The two sides will play in the top flight and try to put to test the
players they have recruited for the new campaign expected to have
fourteen teams in action.
The warm up clash against the 2012/13 League Champions comes six days
after the Wada Queens played against an U13 Selected Side where they
won three goals to one.
Coach of Confluence Queens, Baba Anini is looking forward to the tie
which is expected to test the preparedness of his team for the task
that lies ahead.
''We are taking this match seriously to perfect our strategies for the
upcoming season which will soon get underway. We have a pool of
players who are ready to perform well on the pitch,'' the coach was
quoted by media officer of the team Ojo Tosin.
''I am looking at the general performance and tactical awareness of my
players. The score line against the U13 Boys was what we wanted to
show people what we are capable of doing.''
''We closed them down, that is exactly what we want and will continue
from where we left off against Nasarawa Amazons on Wednesday,'' the
coach who led Confluence Queens to a third place finish in the 2011/12
season added.
Nasarawa Amazons will also use this opportunity to keep their team in
shape as they await the start of the NWPL campaign.
The friendly encounter will get underway by 4pm on Wednesday at the
Confluence Stadium, Lokoja.
