The appointment of Sunday Oliseh as  chief coach of the Super Eagles raised the hope of many Nigerians.
Many believed that he is the messiah our football and the midas we expected to bring the touch of Gold to our national team.  'Mr Midas',  as a friend of mine do call him: his first match in charge of the Super Eagles was nothing to write home about. A draw against a team like Tanzania is not applaudable; looking at the caliber of players we paraded compared to that of the Tanzanians.

Our last match against the Cameroonian national team  showed that the team has shown a lot of improvement.

Oliseh has resulted to following the words of Amaju Pinnick, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), who promised to recruit young and skillful Nigerians who are talented but grew abroad to the national team.
We've seen the emergence of players like: Wolverhampton FC goalkeeper, Karl Ikeme, Arsenal forward, Alex Iobi e.t.c. Although it's commendable but it must not be placed above the development of our local league and talented youths based in Nigeria.
The recent retirement of loyal servants such as Vincent Enyeama and Emmanuel Emenike is not a good tale to the ear. Both players have served the country very well and are proud to quit international football. The unceremonious exit of both players from the national doesn't speak well, in sane climes he would be given a ceremonial sent fort . Oliseh should do well to look within and ensure he cure the cancerous situation that might have started its growth within the team.
Our football teams should have a proper academy where raw and young talents can be refined to help us develop good players. Constant age grade competition both at primary and secondary level will help reduce the issue of age cheat.
The challenges before our football are numerous no doubt, but they are surmountable with dedication ,honesty, loyalty and a motivated spirit in part of the coach, players and the men in the glass house, our flag will fly high at every competition.
