MFMF coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu has confirmed that midfield youngster, Elijah Akani will start ahead of the more experience and enterprising Onuwa Chukwuka when the Olukoya Boys take on ABS at the Agege stadium on Sunday in a week 27 fixture in the  Nigeria Professional Football League.

The youngster who grew from the ranks got his debut in the 1-1 draw away to Wikki Tourist [his only match this term]  but Ilechukwu who has shown his confidence at giving raw talents a chance at the big stage stated that he thinks the time is right for Akanni to warm the big stage.

"I think this time is the perfect time to play Akanni Elijah. He has proven himself times without number that he deserves playing time," Ilechukwu told Footyalert

"He has been incredible with his performances over the past few weeks and I think I need to encourage him by given him a role in the starting 11.

"The last time he played was against Wikki Tourists in Bauchi and he showed a lot of quality in that particular game his move was what led to our goal and the game ended 1-1. I have told him to be calm and I believe he will deliver the goods.

"Elijah is quick with the ball and very hardworking too. He has the ability to hold on to the ball, he's  a dribbler and a ball passer with great vision on goal,"Ilechukwu stated.

Akanni may just be on his way to becoming the most talked about player in Nigeria's topflight league. The attacking midfielder has got speed, strength and his technical abilities shows up with ease as he gets better off defenders.

His vision to deliver accurate passes and ability to decide within seconds makes him offer something special to the Olukoya Boys. ABS will have to be worried with his speed and precise shots off dead ball situation.
