Current goals scoring sensation in Akwa Utd this season with 10 goals, Ibrahim Alhassan has attributed his rapid development in the round leather game to the experience he gathered while playing in the Nationwide League with Sarduana FC of Kano few years ago.

“ I am glad with my progress in football and i want to say that everything began at the amateur level which is now known as the Nationwide League. I played for Sarduana FC of Kano then. We played a lot of matches amongst the various teams in the state and these games were very helpful in developing me as a better player and i am still developing now as Akwa United and a player that just tasted a feel of the senior national team” Alhassan said.
“ i will admonish the up coming players, especially the ones currently playing in the Nationwide League not to take what they are being taught lighly, but they should take it very serious and play their football in the Nationwide League with the seriousness it deserves.
Despite not featuring for Nigeria in the game against South Africa, Alhassan opined that he has learnt more about while in the Super Eagles camp , while in France where the team two friendly games and in Uyo where the team lost to South Africa.
“ I have gained more experience in the Super Eagles and learnt more about football playing in the midst of very good players, exhibiting great skills and knowledge of the game and i am very optimistic that this will also be reflected in my game in the Nigeria Professional Football League as the league progresses. However, i cannot deny the fact that it all began for me at the amateur level, which is now known as Nationwide League.
