Former Sunshine Stars chairman, Dapo Ajibade has emphasized on the importance of running clubs playing in the domestic league in a professional way instead on focusing on picking up three points.
The ex-Ondo State Football Agency boss shed light on what he did at the Akure outfit and what led to his exit at the club.
The Owena Waves have recently been banished to Ijbu ode due to lack of proper security at their home ground but Ajibade has explained how he curb such excesses while he was in charge.
"Playing in the league is beyond three points, the idea of collecting so much money from the government with promise of winning the league is all lies,"Ajibade told Footyalert
"When I resumed as ODSFA chairman I made it clear that we want to keep our status in the NPFL, re-organize the mode of operation and run the club in a professional way where the fans will be engaged and the club will be a genuine league contender next season..
"I gave the gate takings and shirt franchise to the supporters and by the grace of God Sunshine Stars never experienced any form of violence at our home ground. At the time we drew two matches and lost a match yet there was never any form of disturbance at all.
"Even Shooting Stars came to Akure and for the first time seventeen years there was no crisis, that happened because we chose to manage the club in a professional side.
"Only one team will win the league and if I win the league what's the benefit?
"But if I develop players the community will enjoy, the club will last longer. We plan to change the Sunshine Stars brand but government! When I saw the hand writing I knew it's time to leave," Ajibade concluded
