Federation Cup 2014:First Round Result.

The first round of the 2014 Federation Cup tagged "Rookies" saw eight teams moved on out of the sixteen teams that participated.

Zamafara State sole representative, Marafa United scored the highest goal in the Rookies stage, they pounced Jega United of Kebbi State by three goals to nil.

Matches in Benin, Gombe and Aba all ended in a
lone goal victories.

Bobbies FC from Delta State won 1-0 against JFK Boys from Ekiti State, at the Gombe centre, Bafani FC from Adamawa State moved to the next stage after a lone goal victory against Jalingo United of Taraba State. While Baton FC of Imo State who were earlier challenged before leaving for Aba by the Imo State commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali to secure victory in Aba got a 1-0 victory against Atlantic Warriors from Cross Rivers State.

At the Zamfara centre, San Buran FC of Katsina couldn't withstand the fire power of Liverpool FC of Sokoto State as fell 2-0. Indegene FC of Ondo State couldn't find their luck at Lokoja as they also fell by 2-1 to Niger Tornadoes Feeders from Niger State.

The match between Ebonyi and Anamabra State representatives ended goalless but Bright Star FC from Ebonyi who 6-5 on penalties against Okagbue Academy from Anambra State.
