Lagos To Host DAWN Games, To Start In May

In a move to encourage grassroots sports development in the South-West region, the maiden edition of DAWN "Developmental Agenda for Western Nigeria" (DAWN) Games has been confirmed to be hosted by
Lagos State Government from 16th -24th of May 2014 with twelve (12) Sports including football has been approved for the Games.

Six States from the South-West region " Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun and Lagos will participate in DAWN games which is expected to create a forum for youths in the region to harness their sporting talents.
Twelve (12) sports namely: athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, football, gymnastics, scrabble, swimming, table tennis, tennis, taekwondo and volley ball has been approved for the games.

Participant and Eligibility.
The participants must be athletes in recognised Secondary schools of the State where they reside. Athletes that are re-taking WAEC are not eligible.
