During a chat with footyalert, the Sudanese goal king said “I miss my former club, Dolphins of Porthacourt but i do find time to train with the Pride of Rivers whenever I’m in Nigeria”
The Nigerian international who has featured in the Nigeria Under- 20 &23 teams (Flying Eagles and Dream Team) played for Dolphins FC before leaving for Sudanese club Al-Hilal and later switched to Al-Merreikh where he currently plays. His goals have helped him lift the Sudanese league thrice and the Sudan Cup once and also won the league top scorer award in a record four times.
While in Nigeria, Osunwa gained promotion with Dolphins FC in 2002 to the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) , he was also the higest goal scorer with 12 goals. He was part of that historic Dolphins team In 2004/2005 season when "The Pride of Rivers" won the league, FA Cup and played in the finals of the CAF Confederations Cup all in the same year.
This big striker who tied the knot after leaving Nigeria said he is always with his family during school vacation. “I got married after i made that move to Sudan and we are always together during the holidays”
