Oyo State Sports Commissioner,Dapo Lam Adeshina Calls for "Fasting & Prayers"

Is it that fans of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan have given up or do they still have hope of maintaining their NPL status next season?

According to a report by Oyo Sports Update,the Sports Commissioner for Youth and Sport in Oyo State, Dapo Lam Adeshina has called on Shooting Stars supporters to pray for the survival of the club.

Oyo State are sure of a representative in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) since Crown FC of Ogbomoso gained promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) but 3SC who are currently in the RED zone on the log might have to fight a battle of their life to avoid going down.

Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr. Adedapo Lam-Adesina has called on Shooting Stars’ faithfuls to pray earnestly for the survival of the club even as he continues with efforts to save the club from the relegation Zone.

Mr. Lam-Adesina said the present position of the club was least expected considering the unprecedented funding and support the club has enjoyed under the present administration in the State.
The Commissioner has therefore called for seven days fasting and prayers for Shooting Stars starting from Saturday 7th September 2013 for divine intervention.

The prayer he said becomes necessary considering the trend of events which has seen the team recorded significant progress with victories over Kano Pillars, Bayelsa United and narrow loss to Akwa United only to slide down to a draw at home to ABS FC
Mr. Lam-Adesina said the fasting and prayers he believes will complement efforts to save the club from the drop.

He expressed confidence that Shooting Stars will remain in the Premier League beyond this season.
Shooting Stars will play against Sunshine Stars of Akure on Sunday in the Week 30 fixture of the Nigeria Premier League at the Akure Township Stadium.
