In the latest club world ranking released by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) no Nigerian football club made the first two hundred but three clubs from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) made the top five hundred clubs in the world.
The IFFHS have since 1991 make the club world ranking with results from all official competitions in the world. It's no surprise that no Nigerian club ranked high, non of the Nigerian clubs that
played on the continent in 2014 survived the qualifying stage of both CAF Champions League or CAF Confederation Cup there by reducing their chances to gain more points outside of their domestic league to rank in a good position.

The Spanish Laliga champions, Real Madrid CF top the list, German Bundesliga champions, FC Bayern München were ranked second. Club Atlético de Madrid, FC Barcelona, Club Atlético Nacional SA made the top five.
2014 Federation Cup champions, Enyimba Int'l of Aba were ranked (377), Bayelsa United (439) and Warri Wolves (453) were the only Nigerian clubs that made the top five hundred clubs in the world.
In the “Top 100″ there are clubs from 42 countries : 67 clubs from UEFA, 22 from CONMEBOL, six from AFC, three from CONCACAF, two from CAF and none from OFC. The following leagues are represented by the most clubs in the Top 100 :Spain (7), Argentina (7), Brazil (6), England (6), Germany (6), Italy (6), France (5). Under the global ranking, the Top 10 for each of the football continents, South America, Africa, Asia and CONCACAF and also the TOP 500 :
