Lagos State Football Association, LSFA has concluded plans for the draws
of the 2016/2017 WGB/Lagos State FA Cup holding this Wednesday at the Sports Writers Association of
Nigeria, SWAN Lagos Chapter secretariat within National Stadium, Surulere,
Lagos.
Dotun Coker, Chairman of the Technical committee of Lagos State FA
informed that the draws holding this Wednesday will be preceded by a
seminar for all the participating clubs’ administrators and coaches.
He disclosed that Mr Siji Lagunju, Technical Officer of Nigeria Football
Federation, NFF will conduct the coaching clinic for coaches of the
participating clubs, while the seminar will see Dr. Bukola Bojuwoye delivering
paper on application of first aid treatment, with Dele Atoun also delivering
paper on the amendment to laws of the game, while Dotun Coker will deliver
paper on the rules and regulations of the championship.
Coker submitted that the seminar is very important and very critical to
the success of the championship which has MFM FC as the defending champions of
the men category. “It has always being a tradition in Lagos State FA to always
update our affiliated clubs on the latest development of the game, hence the
reason for seminars before any major championship or tournament”. He stated.
Meanwhile, 80 clubs (men category) and 12 clubs (women category)
are registered for this year’s edition of the FA Cup. Tthe championship will
kick off on the 3rd of April, 2017 with the finals
scheduled to hold on the 6th and 7th of May, 2017 for Women and Men respectively.
