  • Pinnick: We Are Marching Towards Our Goal, Steady

    By Unknown → Wednesday 30 September 2015
There is still a lot of work on the road, but the present NFF administration believes it is working assiduously towards the set vision of building a sustainable football culture for Nigeria.

Pinnick: We Are Marching Towards Our Goal, Steady
At its inception at the end of September 2014, the Board led by Amaju Melvin Pinnick had unveiled a vision of building a sustainable football culture for the country, founded on strategies of capacity building and a virile youth development program.

On Wednesday, in a statement to mark the one year of the administration and to look forward to the next one year, Pinnick gave the Board a pat on the back, and stated that the unity within the group and general body language assure him that everyone is ready for the enormous work ahead, as well as foreseeable and unforeseen challenges.

“As you rightly note, there is a lot of work ahead. I am not happy with the decline of the Super Falcons and we are putting heads together for an all –encompassing solution to women’s football, not just the Falcons. But apart from that, I believe we have done well in pursuing our vision.

  • Why Nigerian Football Coaches Should Ignore Foreign Bred Players.

    By Unknown →
    By Aderonke Bello

As a professional journalist, I know how normal it is for the media to sing praises of players born and bred abroad with Nigerian roots, some even leave the local players and start to hype the foreign based professionals.

Why Nigerian Football Coaches Should Ignore Foreign Bred Players.

It is no longer news that Jordon Ibe who has redefined the pronunciation of his name as ‘hybe’ seemingly to denounce his Nigerian roots, has opted for England. I disagree that he snubbed Nigeria but will rather say that, he snubbed the Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, a home-made/bred ex-player hunting for foreign-made/bred players and who vehemently attempted to persuade him to play for the Eagles.

  • Nigerian Referees For World Cup Qualifier In Burkina Faso

    By Unknown →
Nigerian women referees will take charge of a 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying match between Burkina Faso and Ethiopia, which has been rescheduled for this weekend by the Confederation of African Football. The match was earlier set to be played last weekend.
Nigerian Referees For World Cup Qualifier In Burkina Faso

The rescheduling was as a result of a recent putsch in Burkina Faso, but normalcy has since returned to the country. CAF’s confirmation of this weekend for the match in Ouagadougou also means that the 2016 African Nations Championship final qualifier between the Super Eagles and the Etalons, set for Ouagadougou on October 25, remains unaffected.
