    In-form Sikiru Olatunbosun has been named Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos player of the month for April, 2016.
    The skillful left-winger gave a very good account of himself in the month under review with top-notch performances. Although he didn’t score a goal but his influence on the pitch of play earned him the honour.

    After thrashing Sia-One academy 4-1, Dabo Babes 5-0 and a Kaduna State –selected side 6-2 in test games, football fans left the FIFA Goal Project, Abuja disappointed Thursday morning as the Flying Eagles failed to assuage their thirst for goals against Nigeria National League side, Dreams FC. For the first time in four matches, the Emmanuel Amuneke –tutored side failed to find the back of the net, but they gave the fans plenty to savour in ninety minutes against a very good Dreams FC of Makurdi.

    No fewer than four first team players will miss Rivers United’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash with Enugu Rangers on Sunday.

    Yaovi Douhadji, Guy Kuemian, Godbless Asamoah and Wilson Andoh will definitely miss out on the match day 14 encounter against the Flying Antelopes.

    Togolese international defender, Douhadji is currently indisposed and has not trained since last week.

    1.The General Assembly comprising all the 44 members firmly affirmed that the Nigeria Football Federation is one indivisible and unified body governed by the NFF statutes (2010 edition).

    2.The General Assembly expressed explicit confidence in the Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation under the leadership of Amaju Melvin Piinnick and unanimously re-affirmed the election of the following persons as was done at NFF Elective Congress in Warri,  Delta State on 30th September 2014: Amaju Melvin Pinnick  (President): Seyi  Akinwunmi (1st Vice President); Ibrahim Musa Gusau (Chairman of Chairmen); Christopher Green (Member); Sunday Dele-Ajayi (Member); Felix Anyansi Agwu (Member); Sharif Rabiu Inuwa (Member); Yusuf Ahmmed Fresh (Member); Suleiman Yahaya Kwande (Member); Babagana Kalli (Member); Hussaini Modibbo (Member, of blessed memory).  General Assembly observed a one – minute silence for Alhaji Hussaini Modibbo, who passed on in March, 2016.

    Rangers coach, Amapakabo, emerged winner in the manager's category by
    beating the trio of Mohammed Baba Ganaru of Kano Pillars, Mitko Dobrev
    of FC Ifeanyiubah and Abdul Maikaba of Wikki Tourists.

    Head Coach of the U-23 National Team, Dream Team, Samson Siasia has invited 30 players to camp in preparation for the men’s football tournament of this year’s Olympic Games, taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

    Coach Siasia told thenff.com that the list of invited players led by goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel, also includes old reliables like defender Erhun Obanor, Stanley Dimgba, Kufre Ebong, Ndifreke Effiong, Ubong Ekpai and Daniel Etor.

    The Senior Women National Team, Super Falcons, were forced to a 1-1 draw in Dakar on Friday in an Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifying match.

    Playing at the Stade Demba Diop in the Senegalese capital, the reigning African champions created a host of opportunities before substitute Chioma Wogu shot Nigeria into the lead a minute to half time.

  • NFF files appeal, motion to vacate order and stay-of-execution against Jos court judgement

    The Nigeria Football Federation has swiftly moved to file an appeal, a motion to vacate the order and a motion for a stay-of-execution against the judgement of the Jos High Court, which on Friday decided to re-list a case brought by Ambassador Chris Giwa against the validly –elected NFF administration of Amaju Melvin Pinnick.
     In re-listing the case for hearing on 30th May this year, the court shockingly also restored the order that the election and Congress of 30thSeptember 2014 be nullified.

  • Rivers United's Okafor Absconds From Camp

    The management of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, Rivers United have announced that striker, Onyekachi Okafor has absconded from the camp of the team.

    Okafor was duly registered to play for United this season having arrived from another NPFL side, Warri Wolves at the end of last season. 
    Speaking to Rivers United media, secretary of the club, Ahmed Abdulrahman expressed regret at the action of Okafor.
