The Nigeria National League has gotten to a stage where teams have to give their all.
With just two matches to go in the Nigeria National League (NNL) , only Giwa FC (49 points)of Jos have secured a promotion ticket in a league that will produce four top teams to feature in the Glo Nigeria Premier League next season.

FC Taraba (42 points), a team from
Jalingo and Plateau united (42 points) from Jos, have a chance to pick the other ticket left in group A while Mighty Jets (39 points) from Jos and Jigawa Golden Stars (38 points) have an outside chance to pick the ticket.
In group B, things have changed from the usual, Crown FC and Remo Stars sat at the top of the log for the better part of the season exchanging the 1st and 2nd position between themselves but as at week 28, Umuahia based Abia Warriors have found their way to the top. First place Abia Warriors are tied on points (42 points) with Crown FC but with a better goals difference while Remo stars are 3rd with 40 points. It gets even interesting considering that three teams also have a slim chance to pick the tickets in group B. The trio of Gateway FC of Abeokuta, Gabros Int’l of Nnewi and MFM of Lagos are all tied on 37 points.

    Relegation Battle

Four teams will be relegated to the lower league ie. Nigeria Nationwide League (NNWL) from each group but due to some drama in both groups, in group A, three teams will join Zamafara United who have been confirmed relegated by the league body after failing to honour some league matches while two teams will go down in group B after Apa united of Otukpo were confirmed relegated for failing to honour some league matches. Bridge FC of Lagos pulled out of the league at the start of the season leaving 15 teams left in group B.

In group A, FC Abuja looked to have confirmed their relegation status after they lost at home in week 28 to visiting Jigawa Golden Stars. They are first from behind with just 25 points while Adamawa United (30 points),  Kogi United (31 points) and Spotlight FC (35 points) must secure maximum point in the last two matches else they will go down.
In group B, Fountain FC of Ekiti who took over the slot of Divine Warriors (former Ocean Boys) are comfortable sitting at the foot of the table with just 26 points, 2012 Federation Cup 2nd runners up Prime FC of Osogbo might risk going down as well with just 31 points. Fan favourites, City of David United FC (COD UNITED) are found in an unlikely position at the lower end of the table with 31 points.
