Kaduna Gov Predicts Elephants Fall To Eagles

Kaduna State Executive Governor Alhaji (Dr) Muktar Ramalan Yero on Friday evening paid a motivational visit to the national team, the Super Eagles in  Kaduna ahead of their game against Cote D’ Ivoire Elephants and predicted a total annihilation of the Ivorian side. He also said he will personally lead the state delegation for the game.

Yero, who was accompanied by a retinue of officials including
the Sports Commissioner, declared that he had intended to see the team at training but had to make a detour when he learnt that there would be no training on Friday evening. Before then he said he had been to a neigbhouring state overnight and could not have seen the team earlier. He said he was sure that with the caliber of players and technical crew in the national team, the Super Eagles will surely overrun the Elephants.

NFF General Secretary, Barrister Musa Amadu, who spoke earlier said the team was in Kaduna to recreate the winning ways of the national team after its last outing in the city against the Chipolopolo of Zambia ended 2-0 in 2011. This, the governor agreed will come to pass on Saturday in Kaduna City, popularly known as the Crocodile City.
Head Coach Stephen Keshi said he was overawed by the presence of the governor and declared that at least 10 players who have had close affinity with the city of Kaduna are in the game against the Elephants of Cote D’ Ivoire. Keshi spoke through Team Media Officer Ben Alaiya.

Team Captain, Chigozie Agbim, who introduced members of the squad promised the governor that the team will not disappoint in the crucial qualifier for the African Nations Championship, especially as the team has never before qualified for the competition.

Ending the very short visit, the governor declared thus: My support for you is hinged on the fact that we need to revive sports, especially football and I must advise our young players to always listen to their coaches and avoid any SHAKARA, otherwise they will not grow to become the Keshis, Amokachis and Ikes of the modern era”
