    Inyama Scores Eaglets’ Screening High

High Chief Emeka Inyama, Member of the NFF Executive Committee and chairman, Nigeria National League (NNL), has awarded a pass mark for the two-week screening exercise conducted for budding talents desirous of a place in the 2013 FIFA Under-17 World Cup-bound Golden Eaglets.
Inyama took some time off his busy schedule from his National League office at the Goal Project Centre to witness firsthand how the CoachManu Garba-led crew is whipping the new discoveries into shape.

A highly impressed Inyama said the future of Nigerian football is assured judging by the quality of the players he met on ground, even as he commended officials of the team for a job well done so far.

“It is hard to believe that this is not the team that represented the country at the last African Under-17 Championship because these boys are as good as the team that won silver in Morocco,” remarked Inyama who is also Chairman of NFF Media and Publicity Committee.

“There is no doubt that there is abundance of talents in the country and what is needed are eagle-eyed coaches to fish them out.”

Inyama  said  Nigerians and indeed the NFF have a high expectations of  the current  Golden Eaglets as they seek  the country’s fourth global glory following  three previous  successes  in 1985,1993 and
2007.Incidentally, Garba was part of the last victory party  and Inyama believes he has the magic wand  to go all the way yet again.

“ I think we are going to have a solid team for the World Cup in the UAE and  it goes without saying that Garba is indeed a very good coach judging by his antecedents and what I have seen here  today,” he observed.
“ This is an excellent work in progress and I’m highly impressed about the quality of the team being put together.”

The Golden Eaglets would assemble in Calabar, cross River State capital, next week to continue their build up towards a fine outing at the 15th edition of the Championship to be held between October 17 and November 8 in the oil-rich seven emirates of the UAE.
