Abia Warriors Pick First NPFL Home Win In 2015

Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia defeated Dolphins of Port-Harcourt 2-1 in a rain-delayed, rescheduled week 2 Nigeria Professional Football League encounter at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

The game was still goalless on Wednesday when centre referee, Marcus Bwashi from the Bauchi Referees Council called it off after the first 45 minutes following a heavy downpour which rendered the pitch unplayable, with the referee announcing that the second half will be played the following morning.

Arsenal's Semi Ajayi has completed a loan move Cardiff City where he's expected to stay till the end of this season.

The former Charlton Athletic player, Ajayi who has played for the Flying Eagles joined Arsenal in 2013.

Ajayi,21, has made 10 appearances for Arsenal's youth team this term in the U21 Premier League, though he hasn't made a senior appearance yet for the Gunners but the youngster has been tipped as an exceptional talent.

Dolphins FC will return to the league on Wednesday to play a rescheduled game against Abia Warriors.

Dolphins had spent nine days on a journey to Tunisia to play a CAF Confederation Cup game against Club Africain but ended being walked over after the Pride Of Rivers arrived the match venue late.

Mean while Dolphins FC had two NPFL matches against Abia Warriors in Umuahia and Warri Wolves in Port Harcourt rescheduled.

Dolphins FC speaks Out On The Game In Tunisia

Dolphins FC arrived in Tunisia at 1pm on Saturday, March 14, 2015 and were scheduled to play a CAF Confederation Cup game against Club Africain at 3pm, same day.
Before we departed from Lagos on Thursday, we had informed the Nigeria Football Federation through Bola Oyeyode, the head of international department and Musa Amadu, the General Secretary, in writing of our challenges and wanted to the game moved by one day from Saturday to Sunday.

We arrived in Tunis, via Emirates Airline on Saturday, 14 March 2015 at exactly 1pm. And even though our request to have the game postponed was not granted, we were ready to play as we arrived in good time, though fatigued and travel weary.

Flying Eagles Have First Training In Senegal

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have had their first training in Senegal ahead of their opening AYC clash against the host country.

The Nigeria U20 team trained Thursday evening at the Stade Iba Mar Diop in Dakar.

The training lasted an hour and a half and all 21 players trained fully.

The Flying Eagles will have a feel of the pitch at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium in Dakar, venue of their opening AYC match against hosts Senegal, Friday eveningby 4.30pm local time, which is 5.30 pm Nigerian time.
