Enyimba Intl of (Aba) Head Coach, Kadri Ikhana was full of praises to his side as the People's Elephant got the maximum point over rivals, Heartland FC of Owerri in a local derby played in Aba during a week 12 fixture in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The experienced coach, Kadiri Ikhana said this while responding to questions from journalist after the game
" We have been having it tough with Heartland, it is a local derby, you can see that we want to improve on the table, we want to measure. I'm happy with the result, very happy with the result" Ikhana stated with an obvious smile on his face.
Ikhana who has had stints with a lot of Nigerian clubs however stated that the disallowed goal was an offside while his colleague,Bethel Orj thinks otherwise.
" Before the kick, three players ran into the goal keeper. It was an offside, you don't go before the kick, its after the kick,"said Ikhana
" Well i don't want to contest that because i know the whole world was there to see what happened in the game. No body was offside and how can a goal keeper parry a ball and a striker now jab the ball into the net and you say its an offside" Ibeh said with a straight face.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Enyimba FC and a member of the NFF Technical Committee, Chief Felix Anyansi Agwu has confirmed that Heartland FC won't play their home games in Aba as a result of an official request by sister club Abia Warriors of Umuahia to use their ground to prosecute their home matches following the ban by the league management company on the use of their stadia due to the poor state of their home grounds.
