Super Falcons and Pompey Ladies striker, Ini Umotong has expressed confidence that the Nigerians can spring surprise at the big stage '2015 FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada'.
The Super Falcons will start their 2015 World Cup campaign on June 8 (9pm) against Sweden who they've met twice at this World Cup. Nigeria lost 3-0 in 2003 but drew 1-1 in 2007 when both countries met.
The Nigerians who the current champions of Africa will have to beat tough opponent if they want to rob shoulders with the best, they are in the same group as the Sweden. Australia and USA but Ini Umotong believes that Nigeria can go all the way.
Umotong in a chat to Portsmouth.co.uk expressed her joy p,aging for Nigeria.
"Being called up to play for Nigeria at the World Cup is incredible. It feels like a dream – I still can’t quite believe it. Just being here is amazing"Umotong told Portsmouth.co,UK
"It’s the biggest and best thing I’ve ever done in my life. Hopefully I can get a bit of game time but we will see – it all depends on the coach and how the game’s going.But we are still really confident of getting out of it"
"We are champions of Africa and although our Fifa rankings aren’t too good that’s because we haven’t played too many games against other nations. If anything, our opponents may be underestimating us, which can only work in our favor,"said Ini Umotong
