Olukokun: We Will Miss Junior Ajayi

Under 23 forward Junior Ajayi will not be part of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan squad that will be facing Bayelsa United in Matchday 12. His striking parner Nojeem Olukokun believes the team will miss his service but remain optimistic of a good result.

The duo of Olukokun and Dream Team VI forward, Ajayi had formed a formidable partnership in front of goal for this season for the Oluyole Warriors, both players have scored six goals out 3SC's nine goals with a couple of assists .Junior has four to his credit while Nojeem only has two in his kitty.

Bayelsa United will welcome come the Ibadan based side in NPFL midweek fixture coming up on Wednesday at the Oghara Stadium in Benin. Ajayi and fellow Under 23 team mate who was between the stick for 3SC in their last home match against Lobi Stars, Biodun Akande will be missing out on this encounter due National team assignment.

The former Kwara United forward, Nojeem Olukokun told Nigeria Sports Arena after 3SC victory over Lobi Stars that his team will definitely miss the service of both Under 23 players but he maintained that his team will return back to base with a desired maximum points.

"First and foremost, I thank God for today's victory, it's an important one for us, because if you check the log now we are on 13th position and that shows how important the victory was.

"On Junior Ajayi absence, yes we are going to miss him a lot no doubt about that, I personally we miss him because we are understanding ourselves week in week out, our partnership going forward has been great but his absence will not stop us from putting up a good fight, we are going to do well and do our possible best to get our first three poins on the road" he said confidently.

Bayelsa United are placed on the 18th spot on the NPFL ladder with 10 points from 11 league matches while the visitors occupied the 13th position with 11 points from eight games. It's a must win for the Restoration Boys and a difficult encounter it will be for 3SC.
