Week Six of the Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) produced mouthwatering results across the various centres.
The biggest result of the midweek was recorded in Calabar, where the motivated Confluence Queens pipped Pelican Stars 1-0.
Paulinus Ifeoma's 89th minute effort knocked Pelican off their perch at the UJ Eusene Stadium.
The New Direction Queens are second in the Group B table with 13 points from six games. For the Calabar ladies, their poor form still see them occupy seventh on the standings.
At the Akure Township Stadium, Abia Angels could not find a second win of the season following a 2-0 defeat to Sunshine Queens. Patience Agbokhade and Goodness Ihuoma's goals sent Wemimo Matthew's charges to fourth position on the Group A standings.
Heartland Queens and FC Robo Queens shared the spoils at the Federal Polytechnic Pitch, Nekede, following a 1-1 draw. Prudent Ugoh scored for the home team while Rasheedat Ajibade drew level for Robo.
Adamawa Queens and Nasarawa Amazons, meanwhile, settled for a scoreless draw at the Fufore Township Stadium.
Bayelsa Queens held their nerves to beat tough customers Ibom Angels 2-0 at the Nembe City Stadium, with Joy Bokiri and Aminat Yakubu on song for the 2015 NWPL runners up.
Osun Babes put behind them their recent disappointment to halt the unbeaten run of Delta Queens. Edewor Precious fired a brace with Kesiena Ojiyovw also on target. Joy Jegede's unstoppable free kick turned out to be a consolation for the 2012 league champions as they lost 3-1 at the Oshogbo Township Stadium.
Despite putting up an impressive shift, Saadatu Amazon failed at the sixth time of asking to earn their first win in the top flight, but they were able to pick up a point against Edo Queens in a goalless draw. The Mai Ikoh Girls are bottom of the Group B with one point while the Benin City girls have nine points and are fifth.
