  • Home Base Stars Out Of Super Eagles DR Congo, Cameroon Friendlies

    The six home base players who are meant to join the rest of the Eagles squad in Belgium for the international friendly have been told to team up with other home base stars preparing ahead of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier in Port Harcourt.

    The NFF announced this via its Twitter handle on Wednesday afternoon. The players: Ezenwa Ikechukwu (Sunshine Stars), Femi Thomas (Enyimba Int'l), Prince Aggrey (Sunshine Stars), Paul Onobi (Sunshine Stars), Chima Akas (Sharks FC) and Austin Oboroakpo (Abia Warriors) have all been told to report to the Port Harcourt CHAN camp. 


    The tweet reads: "Sunday Oliseh has directed the six home based players still awaiting Belgian visas in Abuja to report to the Port Harcourt CHAN camp"

    "Ezenwa Ikechukwu (Sunshine Stars), Femi Thomas (Enyimba Int'l), Prince Aggrey (Sunshine Stars), Paul Onobi (Sunshine Stars), Chima Akas (Sharks FC) and Austin Oboroakpo (Abia Warriors) will team up with the 19 NPFL stars already in PH training ahead of the CHAN qualifiers"

    However coach Sunday Oliseh made an instant replacement, he called up former U20 goalkeeper and defenders, Dele Alampasu, Kingsley Madu and Wilfred Ndidi. 

    "In their place, Oliseh has instructed Team Administrator Dayo Enebi to invite Kingsley Madu (AS Trencin,Slovakia), Wilfred Ndidi (KRC Genk), And Dele Alampasu (Club Desportivo, Portugal). The 3 players will arrive Belgium, Wednesday".
