As part of the activities marking the 2015 edition of the Lagos Chapter of the Sports Writers week, the Local Organising Committee in conjunction with the Nigeria Tug of War federation have announced the introduction of a tug of war event.
According to the secretary of the LOC, Sola Rogers, the competition which will be held immediately after the 3rd placed football game sponsored by Winners Golden Bet on Friday promises to be exciting as about 8 teams have signified their intention to participate in the competition.
The tug of war challenge was introduced by the LOC to add spice to the Swan Week and also a teaser to the upcoming Lagos SWAN "Tug Of War" Competition scheduled to hold later in the year.
The weeklong event which featured a novelty game between Veterans of SWAN and ex-Nigerian football internationals, football competition, free medical care and seminar has been described by so many observers as the most interesting, innovative and exciting in a long time and is expected to end on Friday, 31st of July, 2015 with the Tug Of War event which Starts at 1pm immediately after the Tug of War Challenge comes the LagosSWANCup 2015 3rd place play-offs, followed by the finals of the football sponsored by Winners Golden Bet to be decided at the Legacy pitch of the National stadium.
