Premier League Managers Deny LMC Sack

Amongst the 20 Premier League clubs that participated in the 2012/2013 Nigeria Premier League season only two clubs are privately owned (Nembe City from Bayelsa & ABS FC from Kwara)while the others are government owned and funded from the purse of the state government.

NFF rejects Club Owners’ purported sack of LMC

The Nigeria Football Federation has flatly rejected a declaration by owners/managers of clubs in the Nigeria Premier League that they have ‘sacked’ the League Management Company (LMC), which the NFF inaugurated last year to administer the elite division of Nigeria’s
domestic football.

Rising from its meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, October 30, the club owners/managers had declared in their communique: “The meeting emphasized on the expiration of the tenure of the LMC in line with the terms of reference given to them by the NFF.

Super Eagles of Nigeria has one leg in Brazil a after 2-1 victory in Addis Ababa in FIFA play off for the world cup qualifier in Brazil 2014.

Nigeria will be confident to host the Walya Antelope of Ethiopia in Calabar after securing a 2:1 victory away from home in the first leg in Ethiopia. But we can not take it away from the Walyas after a good display from them on home soil but they failed to get much from their possession after a mistake from Super Eagle goal keeper and vice captain, Vincent Enyeama gifted the home side a goal. A goal line clearance by Godfrey Oboabona saved Nigeria from conceding a goal in the first half.

Maigari leads Golden Eaglets to Sharjah

Alhaji Aminu Maigari, President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Wednesday led the 'super Golden Eaglets' from Al Ain to the historic city of Sharjah-about 25 minutes drive off the commercial
city of Dubai-ahead of their quarter-final match against Uruguay on Saturday.

The journey which took about two-and-half hour by bus was seamless as the Golden Eaglets land safely in the city that house 'eye of the Emirates Ferris wheel’ in time to keep a date with Uruguay for their quarter-final match on Saturday. Golden Eaglets are housed at the impressive Radisson Blu Resort complete with its idyllic serene environment complete with a beach.

Coach Manu Garba (MFR) said he already has a winning strategy in place to dismantle Iran in Tuesday’s 2013 Under-17 FIFA World Cup Second Round Match at the Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.

The match which would kick-off at 8:00 pm local time (5:00pm in Nigeria), according to Manu, offers the Nigerian youngsters the chance to continue with their excellent form in the competition.
“We would ensure that we win this game within the allotted time and we are looking at the possibility of not allowing the game to be dragged unto a penalty shootout,” said Manu who further reinforced his stand at the official Press Conference. “Yes, I agree that Iran has been making progress since they started but they won’t progress (beyond the second round) at the expense of Nigeria on Tuesday.”

Brazil’s elite referee to handle Nigeria, Iran cracker

Heber Roberto Lopes, an elite referee in the South American Confederation (CONMEBOL) and a Brazil 2014 World Cup designated official, has been picked by FIFA as the centre referee when Nigeria and Iran battle for a quarter final tickets on Tuesday at the Khalifa
Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.

Lopes, a banker became a professional referee in 1995 and received the FIFA badge in 2002. Vastly experienced having officiated in four Brazilian Cup Finals and several local and international matches. He was at the 2003 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Finland and was named as
Brazil Referee of the Year in 2009.

Football clubs in Nigeria have lost their strong fan base to European football due to the poor state we’ve found ourselves. European football is enjoying massive followership because of their delivery.
While some say football is dead in the country others still have hope that the future is bright.

The management of Kogi United Football Club, Lokoja has dropped Omale Jonathan and replaced him with Adeniyi Yinka as the assistant coach of the Nigeria National League club.

The Chairman of the club, Mallam Abdul Adama announced in a statement signed by the club’s spokesman, Samuel Ahmadu, that the assistant coach of the club, Mr Omale Jonathan has been relieved of his post.

Golden Eaglets four goal hero in the 6-1 win over Mexico on Saturday at the Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain at the ongoing FIFA Under-17 World Cup, Kelechi Iheanacho has dedicated the goals to the memory of his late mother as well as his junior brother, Chibuike.

Mrs. Iheanacho passed on last February and Iheanacho said the memories of his mum flooded back as he entered the pitch against the defending champions, adding that she would be proud of his achievement. “First and foremost, I want to thank God for giving us victory today and for giving me the opportunity to score four the goals," said Kelechi who clocked 17 on October 3rd.

Head Coach Manu Garba has said pointedly here that the Golden Eaglets would not underrate their next Group F opponent, Sweden in their second game at the 2013 FIFA Under-17 World Cup after beating defending champions, Mexico 6-1 on Saturday.

The Golden Eaglets would return to Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium on Tuesday to face debutante Sweden and Manu said at the post-match media conference that the National Under-17 team would approach the game against the Europeans in a professional way.

Merit Award: Premier Clubs League To Share N50 Million

Four Scandinavian referees including three from Norway and the other from Denmark would oversee Golden Eaglets’ first match at the 2013 UAE FIFA Under-17 World Cup to be played at the Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium on Saturday at 17:00 hours local time-2:00pm in Nigeria.

No-nonsense Norwegian referee, Svein Oddvar Moen who sent off Mario Balotelli in a World Cup qualifying game between Czech Republic and Italy as recent as June 7th, 2013 will be in charge at the centre. The 34-year-old Moen became an international referee in 2005; and he officiated at the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup hosted and won by Mexico. He has equally officiated at the top level of European football including the UEFA Champions League quarter final first leg between Real Madrid and Galatasaray at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium last year.

Jordan Friendly: Keshi Says No Sentiments

Super Eagles coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi has said there will be no sentiments in the selection process of the players who will make the final cut for the international friendly against the Jordanian national team between the old and the new invited players.
