Oyo state can boast of clubs representing the state in almost all the leagues in Nigeria, considering the league each of the clubs are featuring in, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) feature in the GLO NPL while Crown FC of Ogbomoso are in the Nigeria National League (NNL), the likes of Afijo, Atiba, Ogbomoso United and Vela FC all feature in the Amateur level.
The Ajilete Boys from Ogbomoso are second on the log but tied on points with table toppers, Abia Warriors.
The NNL has gotten to an important stage where each team can't afford to lose concentration. Crown FC captain, Bode Daniel sounded so confident in a chat with footyalert.
"Impossibility is nothing,"Daniel declared with a glaring smile on his face. "Our target from the blast of the whistle this season is to secure promotion to the elite division."
Bode Daniel's performance this season has been impressive scoring 9 goals. His impact in the group stage of the 2012 Federations Cup helped the Ajilete Boys qualify for the quarter final stage from a tough group that included, Kwara United,El-Kanemi Warriors and current NPL champions, Kano Pillars.
Woww, last season we couldn't survive relegation battle, Bode recalled, "We lost the relegation battle to COD of Lagos who were on the same point with us, we lost the last match of the season away to Abia Warriors while COD United got a draw at home against Bayelsa United. Last season we got to the Federations Cup last eight and drowned in the NNL relegation waters but this season we are just an inch away from celebrating our come back to the NPL though we've lost out of the 2013 Federations Cup," Bode concluded with a sigh.
The NNL board had to postpone the league by two weeks for proper monitoring and to forestall any foul play from any team(s).
The influential captain who celebrated his wife in one of Crown FC home win by dedicating his hatrick to his heartthrob and also gave her the match ball said
