NNWL: Plateau United Feeders Scored 79 Goals in a Competitive Match.
Did you hear about how India scored a hundred goals in those days? lol . i guess we now have a similar situation in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Nationwide League (NNWL) made a mockery of its self recently in Bauchi.

I just can’t stop laughing; I guess some people need to be flogged, like 100 strokes ( laughsss).

Well, please read through the details here. I got this from http://naijaligue.blogspot.com . read details after the cut

The Nigerian amateur league set a new national record at the weekend when Plateau United feeder team and Adamawa outfit, PoliceMachine defeated their opponents with outrageous scorelines.

Plateau United feeder team demolished Akurba from Nasarawa State 79-0 while Police Machine ran over Gombe's Bubayaro FC 67-0.

Sequel to the monster wins which took place in Bauchi - one of the eight centres for the promotion playoffs for the amateur divisions - Plateau United feeder team and Police Machine had played out a goalless draw last week. Before the goalless draw, Plateau United feeder team had defeated Bubayaro FC 2-0 while Police Machine also won 2-0 against Akurba.

The Plateau and police teams were tied on four points apiece and on same number of goals scored as well as goals difference and needed outright wins in big figures to be promoted to division three of the Nigeria Nationwide League (NNWL).

As at half time, Plateau United led Akurba 7-0 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi while Police Machine were 6-0 up against Bubayaro FC at the training pitch of the Games Village in the same town. Both matches were being played simultaneously to avoid match-fixing. But the second half exploded with goals, or rather imploded for the losing teams, with Plateau United feeder team scoring 72 goals in 45 minutes - averaging 1.6 goal(s) per minute.

The police team also oiled their machine and netted 61 goals in the second half against Bubayaro FC.Coordinator for the Bauchi centre, Hon Tanko Maiyaki, has ordered the cancellation of all the matches involving the four teams. He has also recommended lengthy bans for all of the parties involved in the two games that produced 146 goals.

The coaches of the Plateau United feeder team have been suspended indefinitely by their general manager, Bitrus Bewarang, while the whole team is now under investigation for the monster scoreline. Secretary of the NNWL, Emmanuel Adesanya, said the four teams have been disbanded and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has summoned the teams, match officials and the Bauchi State FA to appear before it.

"It is strange but the NFF has taken the right step to cancel the results and invite the teams, match officials and the host state FA to appear before it," said Adesanya.

"Meanwhile these teams are not directly involved with the Nationwide League since they are amateur sides." According to the Guinness World Records, the biggest winning margin in football history is held by a club in Madagascar. AS Adema mauled Stade Olymique L’Emyrne 149-0 in 2002.
