A top official at Pelican Stars has confirmed that the club owe player salaries for nine months.
Reports are rife that the players are planning a boycott of next season's Nigeria Women Premier League campaign in protest of their unpaid salaries.
Sources had earlier debunked reports of a simmering boycott by the players but the official has confirmed the club owes the players.
"It is true the state government owe players salaries for nine months, he confirmed.
"The club also owe players four-match bonus from last season too."
"Governor of Cross Rivers State, His Excellency Benedict Ayade should come to the players' rescue and pay their salaries and sign on fees," he added.
The players of the Nigeria Women Premier League outfit are owed 100 percent of the sign on fees from last season and have not been paid nine-month salaries.
