Terkaa Melai goal in the 90 minutes gave Lobi Stars a vital 1-0 victory over Kaduna United at the Emmanuel Atongo Stadium in Match Day five of the Nigeria Premier League to give the Benue Army their third home victory this season.

It was a difficult game for the host on Sunday as Kaduna United gave good account of themselves as they search for their first away win of the season.

The visitors kept their back line intact for  89 minutes of play before substitute
Joshua Abanyi, who came in for Phillip Asuqou was
fouled in the box for a penalty which was well converted by Lobi Stars goal tender, Terkaa Melai as he scored his second goal of the season.

Melai said that the victory over Kaduna United didn't just come on a platter gold.

"It was a great game as the visitors gave us a good fight for the maximum point, they have a great game plan and they did well to stick to it.

"We started very well and we were unlucky to find the back of net for almost 90 minutes, but our  efforts paid off when Joshua was fouled in the box for a penalty which I converted well" he stated.

Lobi Stars are second on the NPL log with nine points from five league matches, they will be playing against El kanemi Warriors in their next NPL game this weekend.
