NPFL new boys, Giwa FC of Jos started their campaign in the apex league with a win at home against Enugu Rangers. The Elephant who were recently re-admitted to the NPFL after meeting basic requirement to feature in the league gave their home fans something to cheer at the Rwang Pam stadium.

    Though both teams have
never met at this stage before but the Elephant were able to hold on to Edoh Ocheme's goal in the 35th minute.

The Flying Antelopes came back stronger in the second half with quality display keeping Giwa FC half busy but the home team's back line stood their ground all through the second half to curb series of attempt by Rangers strikers to get an equalizer.

No doubt, the Nigeria National League champions, Giwa FC will be confident going into their second  NPFL match this weekend after picking the maximum point in their very first match in the league.
