The 8th edition of the Lagos State Inter-Agency Football Competition, tagged ‘2013 HOS Cup’ would commence on Monday, 12th August, 2013 with government Agencies including Local Government Councils competing in the male and female categories.
According to the circular from the Office of Head of Service, the competition would be played at three venues across the State. These include the Opebi Primary School, Opebi, Olusosun Primary School, Oregun and Agidingbi Primary School, Agidingbi, Ikeja.
It added that the Opebi Primary School, Opebi, and Olusosun Primary School, Oregun would host the matches for the male teams while the female teams are using Agidingbi Primary, School.
The competition will features 57 Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) including Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas participating in the Male category and 31 MDAs participating in the female category.
It would be recalled that the competition was introduced in 2006 by the Office of the Head of Service to provide avenue for recreation and social interaction amongst public servants in the state.
Previous winners of the competition in the Male Category included the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Social Development, (2006); Ministry of Information and Strategy (2007); Lagos Television (2008); Lagos State Judiciary (2009); Ministry of Transportation (2010); Lagos Judiciary (2011) and State Universal Basic Education Board (2012).
In the Female Category, the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Social Development won it in (2006); Office of Chief of Staff (2007); Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (2009); State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) (2010 & 2011) and Ministry of the Environment (2012).
