Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan in a week 6 NNL match defeated Prime Football Club 2-0 in a keenly contested ‘Two Brothers Derby’. The match lived up to the expectation of the crowd that witnessed the match at the Lekan Salami Stadium Adamasingba, Ibadan.

The first half looked calm as the homers created something in the 20th minute , Timothy Idogbe, beat an offside trap to fire a close range shot that was saved by
    Prime goalkeeper, Chidiebere James.

The game looked destined to end in a draw after the first stanza ended goalless with Prime dictating the pace of the game, before 3SC substitute striker, Chijoke Joseph, capitalized on a 60th minute defensive blunder to fire a low shot into the net as Oluyole Warriors supporters went into wild jubilation.

Prime responded immediately with fireworks on 3SC goalkeeper, Issah Danladi, who was forced to make great saves that denied the Omoluabi Giants a goal. Sanni Mohammed increased the lead for 3SC when he scored from a corner kick in added time.

The visitors gaffer, Abimbola Samuel, has blamed the momentary loss of concentration for his side’ 2-0 loss to Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, in the south-west derby.  Prime held 3SC for almost an hour before the Oluyole Warriors scored two goals to triumph over the Omoluabi Giants in a dramatic match.

The former Sunshine Stars of Akure tactician, Abimbola while speaking after the game noted: “"We played well as our plan was going according to plan until the defenders lost concentration, which allowed 3SC to seize the opportunity and score two goals,”" he stated.

Abimbola who had previously managed Gatway United of Abeokuta and COD United of Lagos promised to make correction in the team before their next home game against Mountain of Fire Miracle Ministry Football Club of Lagos, and vowed his team will secure the maximum points at stake.

However, Shooting Stars coach, Franklin Howard, described his side victory as a hard fought and well deserved. “
