LOBI Stars Football Club were crowned champions of the 4th edition of Gold Cup Pre-season tournament after they defeated Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries FC of Lagos 4-3 on penalties.
The full time score stood at 0-0 even as both teams tried to outwit themselves while trying to take their chances during the game.
The Olukoya Boys had the better of the game as they dominated play in the first half missing several scoring chances.
MFM FC Onuwa was star man of the game as his dribbling skills was a delight to close to 2000 fans that watched the epic final.
Lobi Stars in the second half, dominated play and should have won it but the Olukoya Boys defence were solid keeping their lines.
MFM thought they had got a last minute penalty only for the match official to rule the infringement as a dive.
Both teams then had to decide their fate via penalties after the referee signaled end of the game.
The Olukoya Boys twice fluffed their chance of claiming the trophy after Lobi Stars had missed their's but Isah Akor who should have won it for his team scoring their 6th spot kick made a mess of it.
The end result saw the Food Basket team winning the team 4-3 on shoot out, then claiming the trophy of the 4th edition of the Gold Cup.
However, MFM duo of Sikiru Olatunbosun and Onuwa Chukwuka, won the tourney Top scorer and Most Valuable Player award.
