Barely a month ago, the sixth day of the eleventh month of the year 2016 to be precise at the Teslism Balogun Stadium in Lagos, there were high hopes on making history as the first team from Nasarawa to ever qualify for the Federation Cup final, Nigerian version of the English FA cup.
Hopes were high based on the caliber of players paraded by the Solid Miners but fast forward to this day, the rest they say is history.
    What's Next For Nasarawa United?

The new NPFL season is upon us and activities has been on for so many NPFL clubs with players pitching tent with new clubs and managers looking to build formidable teams ahead of the new season.
Nasarawa United has been the worst hit by this activities though Coach Kabiru Dogo has chosen to stay with the Solid Miners but same cannot be said of some top performers from the previous season with Shammah Tanze and Bature Yaro (Wikki Tourist); Igbinoba Esosa and Ifeanyi Nweke (Rivers United); Paul Danjuma, Ibrahim Ibrahim and Amos James (Katsina United); Philip Azango (Plateau United) and Samson Gbadebo (Enyimba) who chose to move on.

The vacuum left by the NPFL highest goal scoring midfielder in Esosa Igbinoba will be most felt.
Nasarawa United has been very consistent on the domestic scene for three seasons now and with the mass exodus of players where does Nasarawa united stand for the incoming season?

The answer to that question is simple, Nasarawa United will still be ranked with the very best come next season with the likes of Federation Cup MVP Suraj Ayeleso, Seun Sogbeso, Lordson Ichull, Douglas Achiv, Eugene Obi, Philip Auta, Thomas Zenke, Emmanuel Benson, Abdulbasit Shittu, home favourites Abdullahi Sadiq, Daddy Uba and Shammasu Mohammed, goal machine Abdulrahman Bashir and ever reliable Skipper Emmanuel Makama believe me with the addition of a central defender, two attacking midfielders and a backup striker then Nasarawa United might defile the odds and bring to Lafia the NPFL trophy.
