Dele Adeleye Joins Russian Club, Anzi Makhachkala

Anzi Makhachkala have secured the services of Nigerian international, Dele Adeleye.

According to the Russian Premier League club website, the contract is a long term contract but details of the contract wasn't given.

Dele Adeleye will be happy to have joined a club after he terminated his contract with Ukrainian club Kuban Krasnodar April. The Nigeria national U-13 team defeated Royal Gold Soccer Academy of Akure 4-0 in a friendly match played on Tuesday at the Akure township stadium.

National U-13 midfielder, Gods Power, from Edo state, scored as early as the sixth minute to state the intent of the coach Danladi Nasidi led side. Although, the Royal Gold boys managed to keep the national team at bay for close to 20 minutes, they were however left helpless in the 25th minute, when a defensive blunder ensured that Aminu Adamu sneaked in to score the 2nd goal to end the first 45 minutes 2-0 in favor of the national U-13 boys.

John Obi Mikel Out of "Mandela Challenge", Keshi Says No "Lele"

Super Eagles Head Coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi has revealed that Chelsea midfield star, John Mikel Obi, will not be available for Wednesday’s Mandela Challenge against Bafana Bafana in Durban, South Africa due to a stomach upset he picked up while on tour with his EPL side.

Late on Monday, Chelsea doctors wrote to the NFF asking that the player be excused for health reasons. Keshi obliged and said on Tuesday morning in Durban, that he will not want to push Mikel too much because of the September 7 World Cup qualifier against Malawi in Calabar.

Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Meets in Kwara State

Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara will host the first Expanded SWAN National Executive Council (NEC) meeting between Friday August 16th- Sunday August 18th, 2013, in Ilorin, Kwara state.

According to the Secretary of Kwara State SWAN Jimoh Bashir, the state was selected because of the prevailing peace, as well as the achievements of the present administration, especially in sports development.

The meeting is the first since the National Congress that brought the present National Executive body into office.
